The Enchanted Forest Meditation

Just allow your breathing to slow... find that comfortable spot in your chair... as you let yourself relax a little .. I want you to imagine as clearly as you can, that we are standing on a path at the edge of a forest... its night time.. well dusk... our lady moon is full... shining in such a clear sky... the air is crisp... clear.. you may even smell the flowers... don’t worry if you cant see it clearly... or even at all its like entering your bedroom in the pitch dark... u cant see anything... but you know its there.. you know where it is.

As we stand we are aware of each other... you may even be able to see us... good if you can .. but its not important... we are waiting.. and as we wait.. notice our surroundings... see the trees... notice the types... notice how old these trees are... its almost as if they are waiting to welcome us...

Ahhh here he comes... I see him as an old mage... his staff in his hand... looks like a robe with his hood turned down... tied loosely in the middle... such age in his eyes... wisdom .. and laughter lines deeply etched... he welcomes us to his domain... he wishes to guide us in.. to take us on a wee journey...

We go.. walking down the path.. following him... he doesn’t walk fast... he likes to point out the wildlife to us.. point out flowers and the different trees to us... as we walk i notice the smell of wild garlic.. mmm... night scented stock...

Over there... a wolf walks with us... his beautiful coat glistening in the moonlight... above us .. with the moonlight making the path soo clear.. owls fly with barely a rustle... bats too!! wow...

The trees rustle in the light breeze as if to welcome us and a sense of calm... peace... and belonging seems to wash over us... there seems to be a slight incline.. as the path winds through this forest... we become aware that the aches and pains that bother us .. just aren’t... we feel full of energy... years younger... each of us as we walk .. seem to find time to talk to our guide... enjoy his company... ask your questions... he may decide not to answer.. but he does so.. with a smile... which says we know that answer!!

Try and look at everything around you... smell the mosses and herbs that crush gently under foot... a flash of white... oh my... did you see her? ... a unicorn and her foal... just over there... she looks at you.. her foal behind her... its long spindly legs.. wobbly... we're the first to see her baby... what an honour... she knows we are no danger.. and we move quietly away... stand if you want... she doesn’t mind... catch us up further along the path... we will be in the clearing just ahead...

As the rest of us move on.. such a sense of ... wow... and suddenly the night seems clearer... more magical... soon we reach the clearing... lit in glorious moonshine is a pool... its like a mirror... lady moon shines down and is reflected in the mirror like surface... its not a cold night and while we wait we are told to bathe in the pool if we want... we are told by the guide that its a healing pool... if we bathe in it we will be refreshed.. the aches we carry in daily life will be eased... there is a waterfall just over there.. fed by the pool... you can hear the water gurgling and splashing into the stream below.... if you don’t need to bathe.. or if you do.. when you have finished.. take the time to stand under the waterfall... let the water cascade over you... clearing all the negative energy that sticks to you like molasses... stay until your whole skin is shining... clean and vibrant... we are going to be here for several minutes... while we wait on those bathing and others catching us up...

There is no rush!!!!!!! we have plenty of time to ease those aches n pains... enjoy yourself!! play!!! splashing and laughing is good!! its fun toooo!

Our guide has started a fire for us... he gives us a towel... feel how fluffy it is.. smells of the forest too... and as the last of us join us and dry off... we sit.. feeling exhilarated... still giggling... and as the last of us finish off and join us.. he says .. be still... and as we settle... hundreds of flying wee folk join us...fairies, sprites, devas, nature spirits, there wings sparkling in the firelight... rainbows of colour... flashing between us... there’s music as they fly... delicate .. but beautiful music... a calm comes over us... they are sooo beautiful... our guide tells us... they are always here.. anytime we want to come back...

As we sit... with these wonderful creatures darting to and fro... we see the unicorn and her foal... just sitting at the edge of the clearing... he’s going to be a magnificent stallion when he grow up... but just now he seems to be all knees and legs... more creatures join us... we barely breathe... scared lest we frighten them off... a feeling comes over us all... calm.. being blessed... as indeed we are... slowly they move off back to the forest... and with a final flourish the fairy also go...

Our guide puts out the fire... we gather our things... and carrying this feeling with us we follow our guide back into the forest... and as we slowly wind out way back down the path... we notice that our unicorn watches ... her foal dances beside her .. trying to catch the fairy... laughing we reach the edge of the forest... our guide embraces us all... and gives each of us a small token... turns... waves... and with a breath ... we return
