Many Lives, Many Masters by Dr. Brian Weiss, M.D
It is the true story of Catherine one of Dr. Brian Weiss's patients whom he
regressed under hypnosis. She forever changed Dr. Weiss's life and what he
thought with reference to reincarnation. He did not believe in any form of
reincarnation, although he was a religious man.
Catherine came to him for help with many phobias. He was not able to help her in the traditional psychotherapy way so he began to regress her. Catherine was a very devout catholic and alsodid not believe in reincarnation. Dr. Weiss asked her to go to the very first time that she encountered this phobia. What stunned him, was she began to describe a time and place and era unlike any of this. He felt perhaps she was multiple personality. It took many sessions for him to begin to realize, that indeed something extraordinary was happening. Catherine also began to show psychic abilities. But what further stunned him, was the fact that she would have other entities begin to talk through her in what he calls the in between states of crossing over and being on the other side.
These entities relayed things to him no other could have known. Catherine
spoke of people in her life, how she had been with them over and over again.
He was prompted by the entities in these sessions to share this reincarnation
info in books although he was reluctant to do so for fear of being called
a freak by the psychiatric association. But Dr. Weiss felt compelled to do
so and eventually has written many books on this. What was so very profound
was the in between stages and what she learned. That everyone in this life
has something to teach us and even her father had many, many lifetimes with
her and she was recalling in regression that he was still not learning in
this lifetime.
This book forever changed my life. Now I see how and why people may be placed
within my path. In order to aid and assist me on my growth, it got me to thinking
I would recommend all of Dr. Brian Weiss's other books. Dr. Weiss's work is
growing and he has since regressed many people. We will now open the floor
for discussions or questions.
So before you read this book did you believe in reincarnation?
Yes.
Does it say when he realized what he was hearing was true? What was then
proof he got?
How did it change your view on life?
These entities or beings, came through her and said his crossed over infant
was with his dad, and provided the name of this child to him. This was his
proof.
Thank you.
Well, I believed in reincarnation but until Catherine spoke of each of these
people in her life and how they had had many other lives together, it got
me to thinking of my own life.
The man Catherine was having an affair with had six years of tumultuous fighting.
Catherine regresed back and he had slit her throat in a past life.
Oh wow!!
There was something they had to finish in this lifetime.
But I found it interesting.
And her father has never learned from any of his past lives.
Catherine said in regression, he will return yet again to try and learn. It
is in our inner memory.
Catherine was directed to Dr. Weiss by no accident.
Aren’t our past lives stored in our aura too?
I believe so yes.
Imprints or something they are called
But there were some lifetimes where Catherine didn’t understand what
she went to learn until she crossed over and realized the opportunities she
missed.
We all have it stored in our Akashic records and in our higher self.
Do you think as many others do that past life regression is only made up
by things we Bit aided her on her next life see?
No, I feel these memories exist. Catherine had fear of drowning, but nothing
in this life gave her this fear. She described the lives in a very detailed
way, interesting also that some people can speak a language they don’t
know in regressions. His follow up books continue his research and study.
Who is the writer?
Dr. Brian Weiss, M.D.
I loved the book, and looking forward to reading more of his work. It gives
us something to ponder as to the people in our lives, and how we can learn
from them.
I will have to make sure I read some, sounds very interesting.
Would someone like me who doesn’t believe in past lives get benefit
from his books?
Yes it's got me thinking, it gives you something to ponder.
My friend does regression.
Ever wonder why someone is in your life?
Yes often.
Dr. Weiss waited awhile before publishing for he had fear.
I've had a past life regression help me in this life time
Do you wish to share?
Ever since my son was born the very day of his birth I was afraid I'd lose
him some way. Even had my husband chase a nurse down. The feeling wouldn't
leave me. A few months ago I found out that in a past life my son... who was
then my husband in past life sold all our children in a effort to get opium,
in the china war opium days. After that.... I haven't been afraid of losing
him anymore. I understand why my feelings came about.
Yes. That certainly helped you then.
In that life I committed suicide. It made me think of phobias we have. I
couldn't deal with it if we can’t place it in childhood or this lifetime.
I do not disbelieve that you had this experience but how do you know that?
Are they from another life?
When regressed it was real to me. My daughter was my twin sister in a previous
life
What is the definition of real and unreal?
Dr. Weiss fought this reincarnation even thru many of Catherine’s sessions.
Dr. Weiss did not plant any ideas, he just asked Catherine to go to first
time she had fear of drowning.
I am not being offensive it's just I find past lives unbelievable lets just
say I' m a skeptic.
That is why this book may give you food to ponder.
Even if it opens you up to learning how to love and live with those in our
lives.
Everyone here is free to express their own opinions. I try to read a book
with an open mind. It will tell you something when ready. I figure I was drawn
to it for a reason and will learn something. I have an open mind but .....
Even after the sessions he refused to believe.
I will have to get some of his books.
They are very short books. I read each one of his in one day.
I was told his newest one out even more profound. He has a web site I believe
and travels and lectures.
I hope to go and listen to him one day.
See the book reviews is a good idea. If this book review joggles the brain and urges one to seek out new knowledge and growth then it is worth it.
Well it certainly given me food for thought.
Are there any other questions?
This ends our book review for tonight, thank your for coming.
